What to Do About Re-Baptism
March 28th, 2006 | Posted in » Baptist Issues, Church Stuff...
My church, Missouri Valley Baptist, has recently had to deal with the “re-baptism” issue arising from the IMB’s new baptismal requirements policy for missionaries. My pastor, Micah Fries, has posted a great summary of how we handled the issue.
Worth reading if you’re a Baptist… the issue may just come up in your church!

It is worth reading even if you are not a Baptist!
This is about being forced into a corner to do something you do not believe necessary (and quite rightly so) and is highly contentious in terms of one’s Faith, in order to meet the illfounded requirements of a few currently in control – just so that God’s work can get done.
It is sad that sometimes those in power can be so legalistic, short-sighted and petty.

My words within brackets refer to the “do not believe necessary” and not the “being forced into the corner” part of the sentence – just in case that was not clear in my comment above.
