But we didn’t expect this!

So… senior Hezbollah officials didn’t expect this kind of a response from Israel. That’s what this news article states, at least.

Interesting. Here’s a quote from the article:

“The truth is — let me say this clearly — we didn’t even expect (this) response…. that (Israel) would exploit this operation for this big war against us,” said Komati.

He said Hezbollah had expected “the usual, limited response” from Israel.

In the past, he said, Israeli reponses to Hezbollah actions included sending in commandos into Lebanon and kidnapping Hezbollah officials or briefly targeting specific Hezbollah strongholds in southern Lebanon.

He said his group had anticipated there would be negotiations on the exchange of the soldiers with three Lebanese prisoners in Israeli jails, with Germany acting as a mediator as it did before.

Anyone find these statements as interesting as I do? Last time I checked, terrorism was NOT a diplomatic tactic.

Yes, they are very interesting statements.

The first casualty of war is truth, and this war seems to be no different. However, it must be pointed out that the Palestinian terrorist groups have made propaganda into a fine art and have in the past carefully and deliberately staged events to give the appearance of Israeli brutality.

Our own reporters, where they are products of this postmodern age that has it PC to denigrate our own western civilization, are happy to go along with this “fine art” version of the “truth”.

If one is to believe Hezzbollah, the Israelis, without provocation, targeted and hit a three story building from a town where no missiles were hidden or used. According to the Israelis over 150 missiles had been fired from Qana, many from directly beside a three story building. And the Israelis have video footage showing such launches. Perhaps up to eight hours after an Israeli strike next to the building (presumably from where the rockets were being launched) the building collapsed. Then Hezzbollah invited the media in to photograph the carnage. But if you follow the timeline and various poses, there is something very shocking and sad. The same few dead children are photographed over and over, being held at different times, in different ways: in short, the photos seem to be carefully staged and repeated in slightly different ways, sometimes for hours on end. Here is a report that identifies some of these different shots and poses (warning–disturbing images):

    Milking it?

No, terrorism is not a diplomatic tactic, but the fine art of truth telling is, I guess.
