Concrete Soccer Balls

You know, some things really shouldn’t be all that funny, but they are…
Here’s a story today about some pranksters who made concrete soccer balls, and placed them throughout the city of Berlin with signs daring people to kick them. Apparently, there have been several injuries resulting from the prank, and the two perpetrators have been arrested.
I hate that people have been hurt by this, but I can’t help but laugh… it’s like something you’d see in a good cartoon!
Enron’s victims contemplate justice

Check out this article from MSNBC.com: Enron’s victims contemplate justice.
If you’re not aware, Kenneth Lay, the founder of Enron and a central figure in the Enron scandal, died yesterday. The article linked above covers reactions of people to his passing.
Now, I know that Mr. Lay played a part in causing much pain to many people as their pensions disappeared due to Enron’s collapse, but being pleased about a man’s death, throwing parties over it, or being disappointed that he didn’t die in prison (as some had hoped)? How sad.
What is it about humanity that takes such delight in the pain of others, especially those who have wronged us? Why is forgiveness such a foreign concept to so many? Such an interesting contrast to the grace God offers, isn’t it?
I, for one, am VERY glad God is willing to see us through the lens of Jesus Christ, that those of us who have placed our faith in Him may be seen blameless and pure in the eyes of God.

Let me tell you, God has definitely blessed me… I’ve got two of the cutest kids in the entire world. Take a look at these pictures from last week’s vacation Bible school…
Here’s Jeffrey, posing in front of some of the decorations which reflect the “Arctic Edge” theme.

Here’s Jenna, taking time out from playing during family fun night to get a drink (it was quite warm out!).
