Break the Law.. Strike it Rich?

I just don’t understand the legal system in this country sometimes. Here’s the latest head-shaker… two 17 year old kids trespass on railroad property, climb on top of a train, get too close to high-voltage electrical wires powering the train, get severely burned from contact with the wires, sue the railroad… and get a $24 million dollar settlement award. I feel sorry for these guys… electrical contacts are a BAD deal… they’re both lucky to have survived! But to blame the railroad for their trespass and subsequent injury? And get rich off their tragic injuries?
And we wonder what’s wrong with our legal system…

You’ll have to ask Dorcas. I’m in the insurance business .. the guys who pay these things and then have to explain to YOU why your premiums just went up.
