Bad Joke of the Day

Okay… here’s a new site feature for you… the “Bad Joke of the Day”. Check it out on the left sidebar, or from either of the following links:
- Bad Joke of the Day (updated daily with the latest joke… if possible, of course)
- Bad Joke of the Day Archives (containing links to every audio file)
The backstory? Well… I usually listen to a local Christian radio station on my way to work each day. As part of their morning show, they have a “Joke of the Day” feature. Quite honestly, I just can’t help but listen… wondering if they’ll ever have one that’s good! Seriously. This feature is full of jokes so bad that they actually advertise something to the effect of, “and don’t miss the morning show with so-and-so, who proves that there is a big difference between funny and trying to be funny.”
Anyway, thought I’d share, so I started recording them this morning. Maybe you guys will find these futile attempts at humor as funny as I do.

My dad told me the talking dog joke when I was a teenager. That would have been in the middle 1950’s.
After I was first married, we had a dog that could read. His name was Handyman, and I frequently found him pouring over the newspaper.
One day he saw a sign on a neighbor’s mailbox post that said “wet paint”.
He did.
We called him Handyman because he did odd jobs around the house.

Today’s bad joke of the day is now up. It’s guaranteed to leave you shaking your head in wonder… at how anyone could find it funny!

Hence… “Bad Joke of the Day”.
They’ve all been like that… every day for the past several weeks since I started listening! You almost can’t help but tune in to see how horrible the next one will be.

A Jewish friend from Lon Gisland emailed me a shaggy elephant story the other day. No one is ever going to top that one.
Top isn’t the right word, of course, but I cannot think of a better word that won’t offend at least someone.
Unless you count puns. I’ve got it beat there.
